Kernex Microsystems Secures ₹2,465.71 Crore Kavach Order from Indian Railways
Kernex Microsystems (India) Limited has received a major domestic order from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), a unit of Indian Railways, for the supply and commissioning of onboard safety systems under the Kavach programme.
According to the company’s disclosure, the contract involves the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 3,024 sets of onboard Kavach locomotive equipment. The project will be executed in accordance with RDSO Specification No. RDSO/SPN/196/2020, Version 4.0 or the latest applicable version.
The total consideration for the order stands at ₹2,465.71 crore, making it one of the largest orders received by the company to date. The order has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not involve any related party transactions. The company has also confirmed that neither the promoter nor promoter group has any interest in the awarding entity.
The execution timeline for the contract is 12 months from the date of the purchase order. The project will be carried out entirely within India.
Kavach is an indigenous automatic train protection system developed to enhance railway safety by preventing signal passing at danger and overspeeding. The order aligns with Indian Railways’ broader focus on improving safety infrastructure across its network.
